Congas and bongos come in many different sizes and qualities. From pro-level models to ones for the beginner hobbyist, the following list has a few hand-picked options you can count on.

Conga Drums – Top Brands

The best conga is the one you own. If it’s the best you can afford, it’s the best for now. The best conga drum in terms of sound, construction, and brand is up for debate.

I’ve narrowed it down to two brand that I trust the most: Latin Percussion (LP) and Meinl. These companies continue to provide quality and variety for conga drums and much more.

I’ve played Pearl and Remo congas, and they were both good drums. I would not shake a stick at either brands or any of the models they make. They’re just not as common in the market anymore, so I’m not putting my money on their congas.

Bongos

Bongo is one of my favorite instruments because it’s so portable and fun to play. Finding the best drum for you is also rather easy because there are so many good deals.

Stands and Cases

Meinl makes the best conga baskets for standing. I like them because they are lightweight, durable, and don’t take up much space in the setup or in my car.
